We are excited to drop the THIRD EPISODE of our Summer Sibling Series! This Summer we are exploring the key aspects of growing up with/as a sibling with a differing ability.
In this episode, we are speaking with Amy McCoy. Amy is a children’s author and disability educator. Amy discusses the defining moments as a parent in which she realized that her daughter’s experience, as a younger sibling to a brother with autism, was going to be different from other siblings’ experiences.
During this conversation, Amy talks through the challenges and opportunities that siblings may face growing up together and shares advice to help parents communicate and support their children during these situations. She discusses fostering an environment in which all children feel comfortable and encouraged to develop meaningful connections with their siblings.
